RePercussion Trio is a percussion group, created in 2016, composed by Alexandre Silva, Daniel Araújo and Jorge Pereira that began in an emblematic and traditional repertoire for percussion trio. Currently it focuses on the dissemination of contemporary, experimental and performative music through the development of new works for percussion trio, with the collaboration of Portuguese composers, and as a group, in the contemporary creation of shows. During his artistic career he participated in festivals such as Cistermúsica, Póvoa de Varzim International Music Festival and Harmos Festival. In addition, he attended the 5th International Meeting on Artistic Education and the International Chamber Music Conference in 2018.

Jorge Pereira

Jorge Pereira (b.1998) completed his percussion training at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE), where he obtained a master’s degree in music teaching in 2022, after completing his bachelor’s degree at the same institution in 2020, under the guidance of professors Manuel Campos and Miquel Bernat.

He began his musical career at the Severense Philharmonic in 2007 and completed in 2016 the Professional Course of Wind and Percussion Instrumentalist at the Jobra Conservatory of Music.

Throughout his participation in competitions, he won the 2019 Helena Sá e Costa Award in Duo, with percussionist Daniel Araújo and won 3rd place in the XIII International Competition Paços Premium 2019, Percussion Competition.

​

As an interpreter, the collaborations with Drumming GP, Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, MUDA'TE and Foco Musical stand out.

 

He is currently a professor of percussion at the Conservatory of Music of Jobra.

Daniel Araújo

Daniel Fernando Oliveira Araújo (b.1996), is a percussionist that studied at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE) in Porto (Portugal), having obtained his Master's degree in Music Education in 2021 after completing his degree in Percussion in 2019 at the same institution.

He has collaborated with renowned groups such as the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto - Casa da Música, Drumming Percussion Group and Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa. Between 2020 and 2021 he took part of the circus orchestra of the Coliseu do Porto AGEAS.

 

In contests he won the following prizes:

Helena Sá e Costa prize winner in duo with percussionist Jorge Pereira (2019)

3rd place in “International Percussion Competition – Gondomar” (2018)

Scherzo Editions Award – Best interpretation of the mandatory work by resident composer Ângela da Ponte at the “International Percussion Competition – Gondomar” (2018)

2nd place in “Italy Percussive Arts Society - Snare Drum Competition” Cat. B (2017)

3rd place in “Tomarimbando – Snare Drum competiton“ Cat. B (2016)

He currently teaches percussion at the Academia de Música de Oliveira de Azeméis.

Alexandre Silva

Alexandre Ferreira Silva (b. 1997), comp

Alexandre Ferreira Silva (b. 1997) is a percussionist and performer deeply dedicated to the development of contemporary music. He has garnered recognition in various prestigious competitions. Notable achievements include the 2nd Prize at the 2023 Concours Nicati, a 3rd place at the 2019 Young Musicians Award for Percussion in Portugal, the 2020 Helena Sá e Costa award, and a remarkable 1st prize for Snare Drum at the 2017 Tomarimbando International Festival.​​

​

With a diverse portfolio of experiences, Alexandre has collaborated and participated with many renowned festivals and musical groups, such as the Donaueschinger Musiktage, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Drumming GP, Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, Basel Sinfonieorchester, Camerata Variabile, Dresden Festival Orchestra and Neue Philharmonie München. He is listed as a reinforcement for the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras. He was also selected to be a part of the Youth Portuguese Orchestra (JOP) in the 2014/2015 season.

Currently pursuing his second master's degree in Contemporary and Pedagogy at the Musik-Akademie Basel, he completed also there in 2022 his first master's degree in performance under the guidance of Christian Dierstein. Prior to his studies in Basel, Alexandre graduated from the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE) in Porto, with Miquel Bernat and Manuel Campos.
